At best, it’s just a worse Curse since it doesn’t wound, you have to trade a creature in to get the same results (1 extra damage to said creature and 1 less damage to all creatures trading in), and the effect isn’t even permanent. Calm is better for Execute and similar combos.

The one thing this does do is combo with Mecinar’s Will to steal a creature with 3 power without making it unable to attack for non-Agility decks, but this is extremely situational.

If the effect were permanent it would be slightly better than Curse for making trades, since you would retain the 1 damage where Curse would do the same thing but not give a friendly creature a permanent +1/0. Even then I’d still rather run Curse.

Reduce attack for a turn? Might be us- oh, Calm does the exact same thing, only better.
Well, maybe that extra att- Nope, Improvised Weapon also does that, along with extra heath and gives Breakthrough to boot.
There's not much reason to use this.
