Hey guys,

After playing with my token list in ladder to legend, I realized a lot more mages (board wipes) and support removal has appeared.

To combat this, I went complete Midrange and skipped most Token generation. While getting to #8 I still had Fervors, but there was so much support removal, that I replaced it to Crushing Blow (around #50).

Only card I could see incorporating is Haafinger Marauder as additional finisher.

Edit: Not much support removal running around, so I put Fervors in again. Also crafted 3 Traitors for testing. Still torn on them.

Edit 23.10: Made changes to combat aggressive meta, probably a better list overall.

Been testing this deck out in casual and it is fun. Seems like a pretty decent midrange deck as well, and its always nice to play a different kind of deck.

Im missing some of the cards, so im wondering what you think about my subs.
-1 Dune Stalker +1 Dune smuggler (another option might be a 2nd Shadow Shift.
-1 werebat +1 Green Pact Stalker
Drain wise i could go for a Burglar instead, but i feel that messes up the curve a bit. Another option might be a second Pillaging Tribune. I understand the prophecy on werebat is great, but at this time id rather save my dust for something else. Another option might be a Blacksap Protector for the prophecy.

Im also missing a third Eastmarch crusader, and subbed that for Odahving. Since this deck runs 3x Thieves guild Recruit why not add an extra 7+ mana minion. Also i feel like this deck sometimes goes a bit late and odahviing is nice for some comeback aoe, but that might be a bit greedy?. Other options i can see are Charus reaper, mantikora, renowed legate or legion praefect.

Another question, what is the gameplan with the Scouting Patrol? You said yourselves you went from token-style to midrange-style, so i can`t quite see the reasoning behind those cards.

Thanks in advance

Sorry I’m replying so late, your replacements are fine, you can also go late game, but I think Monk is more suited for midrange. Scouting patrol is to pick of smaller targets or low health minions and also to procc Leaflurker.

Have fun laddering!

Scouting patrol is a great activator for leaflurker. other than that i don’t know

heyo, depends on your draw, if you get a aggressive draw you can go full face, you should also keep an eye out for their hand size, if you see they have 3+ cards more than you, then you need to go all in. Against control decks, you need to find balance between playing creatures and holding some back when turn 6 comes.

Otherwise just keep practicing, gl and hf

what did you replace the traitor with or was it always in there?

You can try a 3rd thieves guild recruit and 2 crushing blows, or 3 if you dont have some of the cards.

i just cant get this deck to work bro dropped to the high 800s, this deck gets completely shitted on by more aggressive decks, you just can’t keep your health high enough to “control the board” what am i missing here? lmfao i have no clue how you made it all the way to top 100 with this i can make it to top 200 with my own sorc deck or the season 1 archer deck

I guess it depends on playstyle, but lately I def started to sense not that many wins, Im still torn on traitor, I’m gonna try without him again. It def takes a lot of knowledge of matchups and sometimes another decision makes you loose the game. Also it depends on matchup, spellsword tokens is very unfavored, but you wont find them in high legend ranks.

Archer and assassin is probably about same win%, it has good chances against scout and mage. But you need to draw atleast 1 6+ drops to have a good shot at winning. Sometimes you just draw badly.
