Missing Soul Gems: Add your collection to see the soul gems you are missing.
This is a deck archetype that I'm sure you've probably seen on the ladder this season. With the popularity of Ramp Scout on the ladder and the introduction of Ulfric's Housecarl as the monthly reward card for August, Token Crusader made a big splash this month. This is the list that I was using for the majority of the month of August.

If you're new and you aren't familiar with this style of deck, the goal is to flood the board with tiny bodies instead of playing larger creatures. This strategy is sometimes referred to as "going wide." Cards like Marked Man, Scouting Patrol, and Imperial Reinforcements all help to accomplish this. Normally, playing a bunch of small creatures isn't as good as playing things that are bigger and better. This is mitigated by also running cards that increase the value of creatures, and by flooding the board we get a greater benefit from them. Fifth Legion Trainer, Divine Fervor, and Resolute Ally all improve the quality of our own personal army. Pit Lion also benefits from having bodies in both lanes, and is a fantastic value play in the early game.

The downside to a deck like this is that it often runs out of cards, because it's playing so many cheap cards early. Thankfully, this deck features several ways to draw cards and continue to fuel our army. Priest of the Eight, Eastmarch Crusader, and Ulfric's Housecarl all help make sure we have enough resources to go the distance.

This deck isn't without it's bad match-ups. Control Mage is a nightmare. Not only does it have Ice Storm, but it has several cheap removal actions like Execute and Firebolt to slow you down early. I'm not saying you can't win against it, but it won't be often. Archer and Assassin can also give you fits if they get a good draw, largely because of their Curse package.

Love this kind of deck, thanks for uploading!

I'm kinda new to the game, so I lost the chance of winning Ulfric's Housecarl.
Any ideas on replacements, or should I store gems to craft it?
Also short on 2 Rift Thane's. :(

I'd consider crafting him, but Crusader's Assault is a fine substitute if you don't have him. Both let you draw cards, just in different ways.
Some cards to consider replacing the Rift Thane are Orc Clan Captain, another Grisly Gourmet, Summerset Shieldmage, Withered Hand Cultist, and maybe even Helgen Squad Leader.

They all have their pros and cons, just remember you are diluting your yellow synergy if you add the red cards and make a slightly less tempo'ed curve if you replace it for a 3-cost card. Side note, Withered Hand Cultists is good at stopping decks that want to remove your cards with spells.

A very nice archetype, but I disagree with a few card choice.
The Black Dragon and Grisly Gourmet are powerful, but have no synergy with the deck.
Same with Dawnbreaker, no synergy. And it wasn't really that good to begin with!

I like having access to Orc Clan Captain as another way to boost the tokens.

That's my remarks for the core of the deck.

About the meta, sadly, in my experience it has shifted from very favorable to the deck to slightly unfavorable.

Ramp Scout is a very good matchup, but other matchups are not that easy.
Control Mage is not such a nightmare if you have some Withered Hand Cultist. Actually with them, my personal statistics indicate a win rate of over 60% against it. Might be a statistic anomaly though. anyway, the matchup is not too bad.
The true nightmare matchup is anything based on Unstoppable Rage. They can easily decimate your board and gain a ton of life in the process. In particular, Rage Archer is really tough.

I disagree a little, I had 3, 9-win runs with a similar deck (swapped Tyre for dawnbreaker) in the epic rumble.

Grisly Gourmet lets you win mirrors and beat other aggro decks consistently. Also, The Black Dragon helps with the many decks that run lethal right now, plus it has strong stats for its cost.

I could see if you want a faster deck though why both of those cards wouldn't be the best since they don't add numbers to the board efficiently for their cost. I do like your suggestion of Withered Hand Cultist as a card to tech in/replace others.

All three of the cards you mentioned have very niche applications, it's true. At the time that I was playing the list, Scout was more than thirty percent of my matches. That made each of these cards very strong. The Black Dragon can trade with Thorn Histmage and live. Grisly Gourmet can eat a most of the little guards that Scouts were running to help with their early game. It's not a huge power play, but it let me develop my board while also getting extra damage through. Dawnbreaker is also capable of eating a Dark Guardian, but that card is more about the reach that it provides. It surprises may people because they don't expect that kind of damage from hand, and it allows you to skip the final rune on any creature that has more than one attack power.

I know that a lot of people have been running Orc Clan Captain, and I understand why. I've just personally not had great success with it for whatever reason. It's probably just bad luck. I seem to always trip over it with my Resolute Ally, and I also found that it was making my Imprison less consistent. Again, I'm not saying it's wrong, but it simply wasn't working well for me.
Just made 9/2 on Epic Rumble today with it. Thanks again!

Yep, mage"s storm rips apart this deck, no chance against proper aggro or ramps. But when it works it"s superfun
What would be a good replacement for Dawnbreaker?

Some people like to run Legate Rikke. I personally found that she was often held in my hand because I was never in a good spot to use her, but she's an okay substitute. For a non-legendary replacement, you could look at Crusaders Assault. I've seen far less Ramp Scout lately, so you could even toy with cutting the Grisly Gourment for more of them if they work for you.

Why no Markarth Bannerman ?
Also Withered Hand Cultist can help you against any kind of removal heavy deck (e.g. Control Mage).

This version is trying to maximize my ability to trigger Imprison, while also making sure that my Resolute Ally triggers 100% of the time. Withered Hand Cultist can be brutal against Control Mage to be sure, but it was a very small percentage of my matches last season. Over 50% of my total games were played against Ramp Scout or other token style decks, so I felt I was better served playing cards that helped me in those matches.
Thanks for the fast response.
I would take our dawn star healer and add crusader assault.
breakthrough and card draw is too important
I don't need that healing, I want opponet break my runes for more draws!

Is dawn breaker really help? I don't face that many undead.

My deck swap grisly gourmet with morthal executioner
CHARM3R ты пизараз, за то что придумал такую деку. Чтоб тебя ею имели сотни раз снова и снова.
imperial siege engine is also a good card for this desk :-)
and mortal executioners fit well also :-)
