If you are new to the game and want to try out token crusader, work toward this deck. It has no Dark Brotherhood cards, and only two epics to start, so the dust requirement is very low.

Here are the replacements that I would recommend:

Dark Brotherhood -

3x Cheydinhal Sapper -> 3x Marked Man
1x Morthal Executioner -> The Black Dragon

Epics -

1x Legion Praefect -> 1x Divine Fervor
----Rift thane removed. Use Cleric of Kyne instead--- Rift Thanes aren't generally worth it for their rarity. If you have them, feel free to sub them in and test, but don't make them specifically for this deck.
3x Imperial Legionnaire -> 3x Pit Lion
2x Golden Saint -> 2x Dawnstar Healer
3x Solitude Stalwart -> 3x Cloudrest Illusionist
2x Priest of the Eight, 1x Crusader's Assault -> 3x Ulfric's Housecarl

Other considerations -

Tyr
Dawnbreaker
Legate Rikke

There are many published crusader token decks to examine. Fortunately, they all work pretty well. Use this list as a base so you can climb some ranks in the ladder without having a full card set. I've made it to legend with the Dark Brotherhood cards as well as a couple epics sprinkled in.

You definitely need to start fast. Having nine 1 drop cards helps with that, especially in mirror matches where you don't have the ring.

You can control the board by making favorable trades and buffing your cards using Fifth Legion Trainer and Resolute Ally. There are only four strength cards in the deck, meaning you will more often than not get the buff from Ally.

Use Crusader's Assault to both take down bigger cards with your tokens, and to draw cards. If you have an Imperial Grunt out and the other player plays a guard with 2 health, you can use the Crusader's Assault on the grunt and draw two cards due to the breakthrough, pilfer, and slay.

Drawing cards is almost always a priority, because if you go too quickly without drawing, you will see your hand empty relatively fast.

Feel free to adjust cards between 2 and 3 copies based on the meta you are facing as well as what feels good to you.

Good luck and have fun!

Great deck! I need to be more careful about playing cards in the right order, there's a lot of different synergies. Went from rank nine to six today.

Glad to hear it's working out for you. I'm still figuring out the best set up myself. Having a slightly harder time this month getting to legend.

Feel free to comment back on improvements you notice as you play more.

Cheers!
