UPDATE 12/15/2017 POST NERF

This deck may no longer be viable as we have Thorn Histmage being reduced to 4 health as well as Hist Grove's cost being increased.

I am currently playtesting an alternative version version which:

- Keeps the shout package along with Giant Bat
- Brings in a minor dragon package for Woodland Lookouts
- Brings in more early game creatures to deal with the incoming rise of tokens and midrange

I will be testing it for a few days and will likely post a new deck list sometime this weekend, as well as linking it here. RIP Pure Bloods.

edit 2: Here is the new, highly experimental deck I will be looking to optimize this week: https://www.legends-decks.com/deck/28185/post-nerf-dragon-scout-a-new-look-old-ways

Just your average shout package ramp scout deck. Used it to climb from 5 to legend #14 on December 4th. Pure Blood Elders are really good right now, for a number of reasons. First, in the mirror matchup they are golden - your fellow scouts often have no way to deal with these large hulking monstrosities. They also shine against Sorcerer, a class that for some reason a lot of people are trying to make work as Control or Ramp. Overall, they force your opponent to deal with them or suffer the consequences, whilst most people will just flat out ignore Spine of Eldersblood after its been played.

Besides Pure Blood Elders, Crushing Blow is the other underrated champion of this deck. Think about it like the Lightning Bolt for Scouts. The amount of time this gives me reach and puts me within lethal is ridiculous, and my opponent never sees it coming. Also great for early game removal or to finish something off.

Hey. Sorry, I do not speak English well. I've been playing this deck for a long time, and I always win in 70-80% of cases. Played in the tournament, and won 7 times out of 9. I went to the tournament again, and so three times. The result was always the same: 7 wins out of nine, all 3 times.
I replaced the "ECLIPSE BARONESS" card with "HALLOWED DEATHPRIEST", since I only have the latest add-on for the game. So the deck also shows itself very well. I really like to enrage the enemy when I turn his valuable card into a wrinkled mummy. It's fun. Thank you :)

As a native speaker of both English and Russian, I say your English was almost perfect here
Eclipse Baroness is an extremely good card so I recommend holding onto at least 2 copies in this deck. Hallowed Deathpriest may be possible, but I wouldn't add more than 1 or 2. Good job on the tournament!
What about skeletal dragon in this deck?

was wondering the same thing. I have 2 that I'm aching to add

Skeletal Dragons don't have a place in this scout deck specifically. You can make them work in other variations by including a dragon package with Woodland Lookouts, but it is likely not as good at the moment. You would rather have Baroness in order to cycle your deck faster and find answers, as the strong anti-aggro package here buys you the time in order to do that. Skeletal Dragon is a good card, but Eclipse Baroness is just a goddess and there often isn't room for both.

I'm trying to make a similar deck with what i have! and i would like to know your opinion on a good substitute for Tazkad the Packmaster, and if Night Talon Lord (Batman) would be a good trade for one pure-blood elder

Night Talon Lord is not a good substitute for Pure Blood Elder. I would just play a Spine of Eldersblood instead, or you can add a third Preserver of the Root.

There is no substitute for Tazkad the Packmaster, that's the only way to put it. Add another Shearspoint Dragon if you don't have him, for consistency.
I'm running this deck and really enjoy it, but have been finding less success with it as of late. I keep losing to cards like Alduin I have no answer to and have been experimenting with hallowed deathpriests instead of the greybeards though that removes healing potential with the soul tear/bat combo. What is your usual answer to larger stuff like that? Thanks

Greybeards are necessary as they optimize the shout package - giving you both a large defensive measure as well as access to soul tears which can end the game. They are definitely a necessary part of the deck. If you are losing to cards like Alduin, it means you are probably playing too slow and reactively - there is definitely a time and place to go for lethal and it is important than you identify when that is, and sometimes you have to start pushing damage sooner than you would've expected.

I just got registered in this web to thank you, SirChoate :D i was trying a similar version with the 6drop dragon, alduin... But since i played your deck my results were awesome!

I was stuck at rank 5-4, then tried your deck and boom: in 2 days I got to my first legend rank this 6-7 December, rank #63 mostly thanks to you :)

To anyone who reads this: I strongly recommend this list if you want to climb ladder. Pretty solid and fun to play.

Sorry if mistakes. English is not my native language.

I play with the same cards. This archetype is my favourite and i was trying it since my beginnings in this game and I can tell you, this is list is the best I've ever tried. Every card has its own utility against specific situations or enemies.

Cards like "Giant Bat" x3 and "Soul Tear" x3 are best friends. That combination (greybeards and walls support this) can grant a great way to win the match or an unexpected healing that will beat aggresive decks. Crushing blow is always surprising as SirChoate said...

And my favourite part comes with the perfect ramp: x3 Hist Grove, x3 Thorn HistMage, x3 Tree Minder and those x2 Pure-Blood Elder. That combination grants you a perfect ramp from 3 magika to 5 or 7 (with ring if you start 2nd): and if you get a solid ramp with heavy minions you've got half of the victory. This is why I also changed the 6 drop dragon that gives you +1 magika. Bad curve and bad ramp.

Summary: This is a pretty refined deck and works exceptionally good in this meta unless your opening hand is really bad (you'll always keep the 3 magika ramps and the 5 magika ramp). After this, winnnig relies on knowing your style, your deck and your opponent and of course: when to play defensive style or when take the risk for a quick win.

I wish you luck! ;) OF COURSE, ALL CREDIT IS FOR @SirChoate, who created this awesome deck
there is no room for "Galyn the shelterer" in the deck?

I think in most cases, Galyn actually hurts you more than helps. First, the bland 3/3 body is not going to be useful against aggro nor ramp. Second, it clogs up your deck by adding 3 more cards - really the only good card is Thieves Guild Recruit. There's no guarantee you will draw what you put in, and even if you do draw it, it may have prevented you from drawing your real outs, like Paarthurnax or Soul Tear. Its simply too slow in most cases. Some Scout decks can run it, but I would not run it in this deck.
Good day. Tell me please, in this deck I do not have only the legendary cards, can there be any rating of musthave legends cards, in which order is it better to create them?

They're all pretty much unique in their own way. The biggest impact is probably Paarthurnax, but you shouldn't craft him. Instead get the premade deck for 500g named after him.
