This encounter provides both players with an indestructible support card, and this support card dictates the way this encounter is played. The support card allows players to resurrect one creature from the discard pile each turn, and it gains Charge. At the end of the turn, that creature returns to the bottom of the players deck. Players do not get to choose which lane the creature is revived in. The enemy also begins play with two Merchant’s Camel cards, so their discard pile starts the game ith options available. This deck list focuses on two things, and both are designed to maximize the use of the support card for this encounter.

First, the deck includes several creatures with very useful “Summon” and “Last Gasp” effects. Cards like Shrieking Harpy and Sanctuary Pet help keep the opposing creatures locked down. Murkwater Witch and Shearpoint Dragon help remove threats from the board. Merchant’s Camel helps make sure there is a steady source of creatures in the discard pile. Sadras Agent helps slow down the opponent as a reliable source of creatures with Guard. Memory Wraith keeps the enemy discard pile under control.

Second, this deck packs in a number of cards that allow the player to sacrifice their own creatures. Cruel Firebloom, Soul Split, Dark Rebirth, and Altar of Despair all help to keep creatures going into the discard pile. This is important because it means they can be reused the next turn with the support card. Sacrificing a creature before the end of the turn essentially preserves a tool in the toolbox.

Beating the encounter with this list requires playing a little defensively at first. Focus on clearing the enemy board of creatures, and getting a good number of “tools” to use when the time calls for it. Once control of the board has been established, it is safe to start pushing for victory.

Check out the video below if you want to see this list beat the encounter.

Thanks a lot for these, just used them for DB and just imported everything you have for CC.

I’m glad they help! I’ll be posting the rest of Clockwork City over the next few days. I just have to do the write ups. The videos are already done.

Did you consider using Corner Club Gambler to throw away top end cards to get back on turn three? I haven’t attempted it, but could see it being marginally better than the camel. Let me know your thoughts!
Thanks.

I considered plenty of cards that were in Houses of Morrowind, and with most of my lists those cards make the decks strictly better. That said, I wanted to finish my run with only cards that were available when RtCC was released. That way, people can see how the encounters were originally beaten and add to the strategies as they see fit. For example, this encounter could be done with a Scout list that runs Indoril Mastermind, Cornerclub Gambler, and Scouts Report as well. It might even be better that way.

Thanks for the feedback. Makes since now that I see more of your intent. I guess it takes a while to organize it all and make videos.
Thanks for the service you provide to the community!
