There are some particular fun tricks to get slay triggers. You’ll usually want to play your slayers into the stealth lane, as it will give your foe a false sense of security for you to abuse with one of three tricks. Either they’ll think themsevles safe in the field lane, so you move your slayer over for the skill, or they play into stealth, so you use Guar or Eradicator (a more deliciously off-beat trick) to pull the foe out of stealth. Shadowfen works for this two or course. Finally, Sanctuary Pet, in addition to being good removal and a trigger for Astrid, can be used to shackle a creature so that you can kill it next turn with a fresh slayer, rather than the opponent using their turn to rid you of the opportunity.
Also, remember that Lucien grants his bonus when creatures kill of their summon trigger, like Leaflurker and Murkwater Witch.
