Here's the most current list. It plays out pretty simply - use all of your creatures and removal to destroy everything your opponent plays. Get 2-for-1s as often as possible. In testing and on the ladder so far, the only bad matchup has been against traditional Scout. Hold Laaneth until you draw either Journey or Conscription. Do quick math before you set up the kill. You should have more than enough damage to kill an opponent through a prophecy from 30 life. It's still a work in progress, but every once in awhile something stupid I'm working on turns out to be really good, and I think that this is one of those times.

Some games:

few thoughts - the challenge with this deck is that if you run too many creatures without charge that you can reanimate when you combo off, you can roll low and not get the kill. I went with Harpy in this iteration because it both slows down the opponent and combos with the damage based removal in the deck to take out bigger targets. Other cards you may find useful in its place include: Merchant's Camel, Studious Greybeard, Palace Conspirator, Ancano (which doesn't get combo'd back, which is nice), and Dark Harvester.

Cruel Firebloom is a lot better than I expected it could be. Great with Firebrands.

Be aware that the 5/5 for 4 that you get off the Vanguard will be reanimated when timing your combo. You can win with 1 or 2 creatures on board when you go off, but beyond that, it's not likely unless you've been poking your opponent. Against Scout, just playing the deck like a shitty aggro deck is probably your best bet, but that match is hard. Pray that Control Mage hates that deck out of the meta.

This is baller Justin. Just tried it -- jumped the gun on the kill, got Odahviing dropped on me the next turn, and STILL won.

Its good but this demands perfect card draw at the perfect times

Meta too crazy right now. This deck is at best 50% for me at rank 2. Get out valued with wards, drains, guards, supports, and very rarely find journey.

But who knows maybe I'm playing it wrong. It looks like a face deck but you're not supposed to go face.

Did you not watch JL's vids? He says in one of them it should be played like a straight-up control deck (maybe "combo" in the deck-list description rather than "control" is misleading?) not a face deck at all until the OTK win condition.

Basically the only time you play a creature is 1. to kill an opponent's creature or 2. to avoid overdrawing (so you don't discard a combo-piece).

I'm having great success with it, my only loss was to a control/reanimate sorcerer (3 Blood Magic Lords, ugh).

Problem with that is it is so easily out-controlled. Decks with banish. Decks that mummy. Decks that play large creatures. Straight up aggro decks. It runs no silence. It runs no support removal. How can the deck control if it can't go the long game?

Can the deck win? Sure.

But I'm winning under 50% at rank 1 over many games.

I agree with you re purple control that run mummify effects. That's the one deck I haven't beaten yet. But I'm beating everything else. Granted I'm not up in the same rank you are, so I'm guessing you're seeing a lot more of it than I am.

Have you tried working in wispmother and/or mundis stone in this deck? I have a similar deck that I play and love, though mine combos with 2x to 4x summon effects (I. E. Wispmother, D. Tormenter, and Harpy for shackle and 3 damage two times +1 for each duplicate Wispmother in play. Up to 4 shackles and 12 damage for the cost of 2 mana).
