Pretty much the same basic mid-range archer that has been in the shadow of rage/lethal archer for months. This iteration has been adapted to fit the current meta, which is filled with slow control and combo decks. By utilizing powerful creatures across the curve, this deck presents constant threats that are difficult for slower opponents to fend off.

One notable absence is the goblin skulk/curse combo. Instead, this deck relies purely on creatures so that withered hand cultist does not have any negative self impact. In addition, the currently popular control decks will likely have more action-based removals than defensive early game creatures, which makes curse less valuable.

Mage slayer replaces goblin skulk in the 2-drop slot. This card cannot be destroyed by execute or firebolt, meaning that it is very likely survive the opening turn and do damage.

The latest high cost addition is the nix-ox/sharp eyed ashkhan duo. This is like the old soulrest marshal/triumphant jarl play. Assuming both cards are available during turn 7, you can put 2 high power creatures on board and refill your hand. This is an extremely powerful tempo swing against control, mid-range and aggro alike.

Some alternatives, should more aggressive decks become popular:
  • Goblin skulk and curse (removal and card advantage); replace mage slayer and 3 high cost cards
  • Skaven pyromancer (early token clear); replace withered hand cultist
  • Blacksap protector (prophecy guard); replace eldergleam matron
  • Dushnikh yal archer (early support removal and guard); replace aela's huntmate
  • Cradlecrush giant (late game token clear); replace sharp eyed ashkhan

Mid-range archer decks are versatile and have consistent win rate against all types of opponents, when properly built. While decks like this one are not the most popular or innovative, they are one of the safest choices for reaching legend.
