For this mission, just place a cheap breakthrough creature and dump a bunch of items on him. Do not attack traps until last few turns, or only last turn using Unstoppable Rage on super breakthrough dude. And place smaller creatures just to avoid breakthrough creature's death by mead bottle. Follow this and the mission takes practically no effort.

Also, I tried summoning Vivec before to stop the losing condition. Apparently one can kill a god if given a pile of sand in a glass tube.
