+1

Cruel Firebloom — obvious combo with Goblin Skulk and many creatures in your deck you want to sacrifice.

Firebolt — great early game control tool. Decks, which are scared of losing card advantage, might be scared to run this card (very low value card), but since this deck almost never runs out of cards, we are not scared to run it.

Balmora Spymaster — value card / find answer card, essential for sacrifice deck.

Barilzar’s Tinkering — value card / find answer card, fantastic with creatures, which have hight cost, but with value trapped in their summon ability. 3 advantages over Desperate Conjuring: synergy with sacrifice deck, 2 roulette rolls over 1 in Desperate Conjuring (not just that: each use triggers summon ability), much lower cost (can be 0 in combination with Mages Guild Recruit).

Finish Off — great kill anything tool, as long as it’s health has been lowering. Pretty easy to achieve, considering how much low cost creatures and damaging actions deck has.

Goblin Skulk — combo with Cruel Firebloom, Elusive Schemer‘s last gasp and Therana‘s ability.

Mages Guild Recruit — in a vacuum a 0 magicka 1/2 creature. In real world — the same, except you can play it early to discount your high cost actions for future turns (for example, Ice Storm, Divayth’s Experiments), and it works nicely with betray actions by providing a betray target. Like Firebolt — gain control, lose card advantage.

Sorcerer’s NegationFirebolt with silence effect.

Thieves Guild Recruit — small card advantage, a creature to play early, sometimes discount 1 magicka. Great card.

Black Hand Messenger — deal 2 damage to enemy creature, gain 2 (possibly 4) life, receive a creature to use as a sacrifice or Barilzar’s Tinkering, even deal 2 damage to opponent, when it matters. Great universal card.

Indoril Mastermind — small card advantage, mostly scry tool. Great card.

Mummify — transform anything into a 2/2 harmless creature with no ability. Has prophecy, which is important against aggressive deck.

Shadowmaster — one copy of in the deck, serves as the combo piece for protection of cards you are planning to use Divayth’s Experiments on. If you draw it early on, use it on Goblin Skulk or other cards you want to protect.

Telvanni Catspaw — small or moderate card advantage.

Thalmor Embassy — one copy of in the deck, discounts 3 high elfs in the deck by 1 magicka, but mostly serves as a protection against surprise Lightning Bolt lethal from your opponent (deck has very few ways to regain health). Play it when you are stabilized but on low health against burn decks. Dead card otherwise.

Blackwood Distiller — I’ve seen people complain about this Telvanni archetype performing poor against aggro and then adding Tree Minder into their decks, which is just horrendous. Blackwood Distiller costs only 1 magicka more than Tree Minder (when the deck already has billion 3 magicka cost cards), but has a 3/4 body instead of 1/1. It can give you 3 immediately usable magicka every turn or even probably kill or finish off two creatures with it’s strength and give you +2 max magicka, if you so desire. Hit your opponent and gain insane tempo or control the board and gain some bonus max magicka.

Drain Blood — much better tool of control, than deal 4 damage. Kill one creature; kill two creatures; weaken or completely remove attack from one or two creatures, so that your creatures can trade; kill one creature and lower the health of another one, so that your actions or creatures can finish it off. Goes through ward. Enables sacrifice synergy. Very good card.

Elusive Schemer — small card advantage.

Lightning Bolt — good midgame control tool, can be used to finish off your opponent, has prophecy. Very good card.

Moonlight Werebat — the only in-built way (aside from Queen Barenziah) to get health in this deck (deck definitely needs more). Has prophecy, good amount of damage, at least more than 1 health and a fair, but not great, cost.

Queen Barenziah — really don’t like this card, since it is a not creature core deck, but you need to gain that health somehow.

Sadras Agent — sticky guard creature with good attack value to hit your opponent or trade with your opponent’s creatures. Vulnerable to removal actions.

Fleeting Apparition — very random performance card, but it creates great value, when summoning right creatures. Don’t play it, if you want cinsistency, but lose on value (this deck is random capital by the way).

Sun-in-Shadow — fetch any action from your deck, as long as you have different creature in play to shackle. Boring but great card.

Therana — shuffle in cards with prophecies or cards, that you think, you will need later. Draw them naturally, from broken rune or use your fetch cards to draw 0-cost actions.

Ice Storm — best mass clear action available for Intelligence.

Sails-Through-Storms — the only card in the deck, which let’s you ramp up your board advantage gain. Play it when you are already head and not afraid to lose control of the match. This deck has much more low cost creatures than high cost, so it might not be a best place for this card, but I still like it.

Stealer of Secrets — one of the very few late game threats in this deck. With the amount of actions this deck usually play, Stealer of Secrets can easily go beyond 20 attack and health, however, sometimes, when the game is not going your way, it can stay at 1/1 even when the match is close to it’s end. Very bad card against aggressive decks. Always vulnerable to silence and removal.

Spirit Knife — control tool with small card advantage gain. A card for control versus control matchups.

Traitor’s Flames — very flexible AoE spell, has synergy with sacrifice.
Ancano — kill enemy creatures or deal damage to your opponent. Can be used to find clever ways to kill your opponent with breakthrough keyword on your actions.

Eclipse Baroness — small or moderate card advantage plus cost discount. Vulnerable to silence.

Divayth’s Experiments — use it on Ancano, Laaneth, Nahkriin, Dragon Priest, Divayth Fyr or any other high value creature, preferably with immediate value (summon ability, charge) or at least last gasp.

Laaneth — use it draw a combo piece or a solution to any situation.

Nahkriin, Dragon Priest — hope to draw very high cost combo piece with it to play two very expensive cards on the same turn (for example, Laaneth and Divayth’s Experiments or Divayth Fyr and Divayth’s Experiments), or any high cost card.

Divayth Fyr — not a fantastic card, because of it’s random nature, but a very needed finisher for this deck.
