If you like this deck, check out: Legendary Blade Cycler + Guide

Behold this drain-oriented take on a Redoran control deck. It has a lot of fun combos with Unstoppable Rage, drain, breakthrough, Crusader’s Assault and an army of big creatures.

Quick guide:
-On mulligan, keep any 2 or 3 mana + Emperor’s Blade + Riften Lawkeeper + Immolating Blast (against aggro)
-Take your time and stall your opponent until you can drop the big guys. Slow is good.
-Try not to break any runes before you’re ready to win – unless you really need to heal.
-There are many ways to heal and win some time to get to the later rounds, where this deck can shine. Focus on gaining health and controlling the board in the early game

Made it to legend with minimal effort two seasons in a row with this deck so it’s definately playable on the top end of the ladder. I’m still tweaking the deck and looking for ways to make it better, so please share if you have ideas.

You’re right it’s a pretty expensive deck. Gotta love those legendaries wink-5384127

Thanks! Let me know how it goes.

This deck is so greedy that if you don’t get very lucky in the first few turns against any type of aggro, you loose.

I really want this to work, but I keep playing against hard aggro and loosing terribly.

Hey Robin. Aggro is usually not a problem except when the RNG gods get very angry. I get more difficulties from the Paathurnax-recalling Telvanni type and some tempo decks.

Here’s how I play this deck:

-Cards to keep on mulligan: any 2 or 3 mana + Emperor’s Blade + Riften Lawkeeper + Immolating Blast (against aggro)
-You really need to take your time and stall your opponent until you can drop the big guys. Slow is good.
-Ideally I try not to break any runes before I’m ready to win – unless I really need to heal.
-There are many ways to heal and win some time to get to the later rounds, where this deck can shine. Focus on gaining health and controlling the board in the early game.

Hope this helps!

Hi, would Clockwork Dragon fit well in here? It’s one of my favorite cards and I feel like I want it in, so my question is will it negatively effect the deck at all? (Also if you have any suggestions for what to replace for the dragon, let me know please). Thanks wink-5384127

Hi Hunter. It’s a nice, flexible card. I guess it could replace Night Shadow with minimal impact. I feel Night Shadow+Unstoppable Rage is a stronger combo though.

Another option could be replacing Riften Lawkeeper with it. But I don’t like how that affects the mana curve.

Or maybe replacing Aspect of Hircine?

Love this. Can be hard to get started sometimes but I’ve played twice and won twice.
So far, only missing

Mundus Stone
Emporers Blade x2
Immolating Blast x3
Night Shadow x3

4000 more gems and its done…subs for now and is working great with them!

Thanks for the feedback. What are you using for subs?

-2 Aspect of Hircine, +2 Necromancer’s Amulet: Works much better

Good job, great deck. Keep the updates coming. I always check your deck from time to time. Every iteration is even more efficient than the last.

Thanks. Keep checking back, I’m not done working on this.

after crafting this deck and playing it not to impressed with it. Has some issues facing warrior decks and you have to get lucky on your draws. Deck could use more card draw options as you heal alot. Also would adding cards to ramp help? often times feel handicapped at 12 magica. going to keep playing with it just my first impressions after playing 6 games on ladder and losing every one.

Thanks for the feedback. Any specific suggestions? Maybe you’re playing it wrong, I just went 8W/2L at around #300-200 legend.

The deck does requires some getting used to. I find the more patient I am, the more I win – generally. Take it extra slow, play defensively, don’t rush out your drops – make the health cards count, focus on control and healing, make sure to draw out removal before you drop the bigger drain creatures.

I added rapid shot, execute, fifth legion trainer, ash berserker, tree minder, and merchants camel to give me some options. That made it a little better and I started winning. I don’t see how you win so much at that lvl playing this deck. You must get really lucky on your draws and your opponent don’t rush face. This deck does take some time to learn but your curve is way to high. You have more almost as many 7+ cards as you do 3’s. Deck is fun when you get RNG to go your way otherwise your in for a world of pain and losses

You make a lot of valid points. I’ll certainly keep them in mind going forward working on the deck. I’m really trying to stick to the Drain theme, which makes some changes harder to implement, from my point of view.
