This deck aims to create a package of cards that create a large amount of natural synergy, increasing the effectiveness of the deck overall. The deck is named after Tullius’ Conscription, and that is the card that ultimately serves as the “win condition” for the deck. The deck uses several cards that cost two or less, and as such a single Tullius’ Conscription will likely fill the entire board. When paired with Journey to Sovngarde or Praetorian Commander, the usually small bodies can often become game ending threats.

The synergy in the deck doesn’t stop there though, as this particular deck list also makes use of Odirniran Necromancer. This card can recycle some nifty tools like Redoran Forerunner. It can help you dig deeper through your deck by bring back Indoril Mastermind or Merchant’s Camel. You can also stall the game pretty hard by abusing Dark Harvester in a pinch. Using cards like Fifth Legion Trainer, Orc Clan Captain, and Divine Fervor, you can bring back a whole host of options just by buffing its attack by one. You can create necromancer chains, or you can play as many commanders as you need to prepare for a wonderful conscription. If three necromancers aren’t enough, consider using Galyn the Shelterer on one to add some more to your deck.

Playing the deck correctly will take practice. With so many cards creating a beautiful set of synergy, it can be hard to pick out which path is the best one. The deck plays like a “body control” deck, using creatures to fight for control of the board. The deck does boast some spot removal cards like Cast into Time and such, but these are really meant to be panic buttons for the big threats your smaller creatures can remove. If you can survive long enough to conscript an army, there is a good chance you will win.

Ever consider throwing in one ambitious hireling? he can add reach on a conscription and (if you end up drawing him) he can even be resurrected with odir and comboed with ferver/trainer/captain to add another three or so reach.

I have considered it. It used to be the Assassin slot, but I ended up preferring the lethal creature as it helped take out guards and such if I happened to draw it early.

Love your variation. Did 10 games to test it out before making changes, went 80% pretty smoothly.
Also, in spite of it being a little rushed, your video does a great job of explaining both the base concepts and advanced mechanics of the deck. Keep doing you.

Beautiful deck – what’s the point in the single Ald Velothi Assassin ?

I wanted to include another two drop to give Conscription a chance at filling the board if it does happen to be empty at the time. It’s a niche case, but I felt it was worth the one slot.

strong deck but how to play against aggro?

I plan to test it out today, and will gladly get some ideas back to you in a few days.

From the limited games I got in it doesn’t appear to really struggle in aggro match ups. A bad hand could surely kill it with a large top end, but if have a couple early plays its not any more difficult than any other deck you play against. Redoran Forerunner can take out the most aggressive x/1 creatures with no loss. The Barrow Stalkers also keep you alive defensively and offensively with drain.

A bit of practice and it should mitigate the difficulty against aggro in general.

I had little to no success against aggro, but I only have 1 Necromancer and 2 Commanders so maybe that’s the issue (I replaced them with Ambitious Hirelings)? With the 75 card deck, the odds of drawing the conscriptions or Journey seemed too much to overcome. Maybe I’m just not playing it correctly so if anyone has advice, I would be happy to hear it!

I know Dark Harvester is cool if comes as prophecy or you manage to drop it with Mastermind / Camel then bring back with Necromancer but if you just draw it, it’s a catastrophe. I better like Knight of the Hour. With this deck you have plenty of options to boost Necromancer’s power so Knight can be brought back easily. And it is not that awful as Harvester to play from hand.

I took out one Dark Harvester and added another Assassin. I think it’ll feel a bit more consistent after that change but unsure

The knight would be a good substitute if you feel you must but after testing the deck I liked having harvester way more than I ever would have expected. The bigger back end was nice off early prophecy and in the late game with some boosts it was even nicer!

The assassin runs an entirely different direction than harvester and while the change may be better for some people it doesn’t fit as well with the style of play being recommended.

Love this deck, it’s a lot of fun to play! I’m low on gems and missing Journey, what would be a good replacement?

That’s a tough call. Journey is one of those cards that is pretty unique in what it does, especially for Conscription decks. If I absolutely had to replace it with something in the interim, I would consider Clan Sorcerer or A Night to Remember. I have been shuffling Clan Sorcerer in and out a lot because it can generate a ton of value in certain games, but finding a place for it is hard. A Night to Remember can get you more triggers on Necromancer or Commander, which can help. Neither come close to doing what Journey does though.

Like char3r said there isn’t really a replacement. Your best bet is to spend some time grinding the gems. Solo arena would likely get you the gems pretty fast, or 4 days of taking down the expert AI. You’ll get it in no time if you set your mind to it! (Hint: don’t dust cards for it unless you have more than a play set already.)

Just crafted Journey ????

Thank you for the deck! It has worked out very well for me, climbed from 5 and now one win from 3 with only around half a handfull of losses. It´s also a very fun deck to play! Though I imagine it´s not so fun to face, I find myself using a lot of the turn timer and win by attrition during the later rounds.

Have been playing this deck for a few days on ladder using ambitious hirelings in place of odirniran necromancer (I don’t have them and am low on gems) with good success. Have managed wins against a number of legends including a few very well known and highly ranked. All losses have come to aggro when I had less than ideal draws.

Good to see some proactive substitutions. If it’s working keep it up. I recommend picking up the necro when you can. It’s very likely to be a staple for a long time going forward.

Great deck took me from rank 9 to rank 4 at a 70% win rate. I had to switch out some cards to make a better matchup against all these aggros decks lately. It have trouble with tribunle accounting for almost 56% win rate against that particular deck.
