The key cards here are Gardener of Swords, Dragonstar Rider, Skilled Blacksmith and Ring of Lordship.

Best case scenario is Skilled Blacksmith at 2 magicka turn, Gardener at 3 magicka + Ring of Lordship on Blacksmith (doubled by Gardener). At 4 magicka turn play a 3 magicka Dragonstar Rider and start going off (drawing tons of cards and playing them for little to no magicka). Once you've got the redguard and item flood going, cards that tend to get stuck in your hand are the Thieves Guild Fences and Arcane Enchater because you only have Thieves Guild Fences to get them discounted to less than 3 magicka in this deck and they usually get removed/silenced quickly. I think 1 Arcane Enchanter is fine though and the Thieves Guild Fences tend to draw the opponents removal/silence so other key creatures have a greater chance to stick later. Be careful not to overdraw with accumulating Dragonstars/Gardeners/draw-items.

Usually you will not want to break runes with this deck unless you absolutely have to in order to drain life to survive or if you already go for lethal.

Alliance War update:
It wasn't uncommon for this deck to run out of cards before being able to finish off controllish opponents. I felt that Therana/Ice Spike combo was a bit too clunky to include but now we got Bandaari Opportunist, which is perfect to finish off an opponent, especially since Thieves Guild Fence is naturally in here already.

Fast and fun deck, thanks for sharing! Lute and snake tooth necklace are also huge in this deck to prevent silence and recover health against aggro. Black hand messenger might be a decent add to help with early game aggro and gives you a drain creature to drop items on.

I've been testing 2 Black Hand Messengers instead of 1 Thieves Guild Fence and the Arcane Enchanter for a while. Not sure about the results. I for now went even more combo by going back to 3 Thieves Guild Fences and even removing the 2 Lesser Wards and the Arcane Enchanter for 3 Maple Shields.

I've found Corsair Ship to be a good add as well. A few times having that in play will mean a top deck Dragonstar Rider starts the item draw train up again.

For support I think Arcane Enchanter should be quite a bit better than Corsair Ship in this deck.

Oh man, what a great deck! I'm sucker for item decks, mostly like CVH's battle mage. This one is different kind of item deck and it's a lot of fun.

I find myself running into turn timer and my opponents conceding quite often.

Hey mazany, glad you like it! Yes turn timer can be a thing even if you play quickly. Also I once killed myself through fatigue because I didn't keep track of # of cards left in the deck, had only 1 or 2 runes left intact and was throwing out items and redguards left and right and had no idea that I had already gone through such a big part of the deck. :D
