I have to give credit to Pantar, who posted a similar deck here and he gives credit to TurquoseLink.

I had to make some adjustments because I didn’t have a good early game against aggro decks. So, after changing a few cards I realized that the deck ended up looking like the good old days scout but with a combo base between Xivkyn Banelord and Shearpoint Dragon.

-Why shouts? removal and giant bat loop.
-Why no Cornerclub Gambler? It is an excellent card and more draw would be amazing for this deck, but as a control deck, in the early game you want to play your cards in the field lane.
-Why only 2 Thorn Histmage and no Tree Minder? The deck doesn’t need a huge ramp, with just +1, or +2 helps a lot in the late game.
-Why no Shadowfen Priest? well, I would love to have space for a Priest, but mess the curve and in most situations, you won’t need a Shadowfen Priest.
-Paarthurnax was added after the decision to include the shouts. In the late game, with the shouts included and word walls, Paarthurnax is almost unstoppable.

EDIT: Added Scout’s Report and Camels for search and discard.

I’m still testing the deck, some adjustments can be made. Recommendations are always welcome.

Deck Variations:
– There are a few decks using Altar of Despair. I had no chance against this decks. So I replaced 1 Scout’s Report with 1 Shadowfen Priest to have at least a minimum chance to play against this kind of decks.
Why only 1? I tried replacing other cards and ended with curve troubles and most of the time, when you don’t have to remove a support, the Shadowfen Priest is a dead card in hand.

– I tested with more shouts, including 3 Dragon Aspect, replacing 1 Scout’s Report, Sai Sahan and Gatekeeper.
It still wins a lot. I’m not saying is better, just a solid variation.

UPDATE: Zumog Phoom and Gatekeeper replaced with 2 Greybeard Mentor. It works better than ever.
Telvanni is your worst enemy, extremely hard match, there aren’t a lot but you will find some.

I was surprised how easily you won against my battlemage with this deck!
An unusual and very interesting deck.

This is extraordinary deck. I have played against it 2 times. First time was a suprise for me, second time i have lost even if i know your game play.

Thumbs up!

This deck is sweet. Can just take over matches in the mid late game. I was surprised by the banelord interaction with shearpoint.

Sooo….how good is this?
I crafted a lot of cards for cool looking decks on this list, only to discover that they were meant to be fun, clever, new, but not meant to be dominating.
I have just enough dust left to make what I hope is a dominating deck. I would like to get into the top 100, as I never seem to get out of 200s at best and often linger even lower. Is this the one? I already made the meta template from tesl pro – but as expected the meta is well countered by now. They are fine but not Uber.
Thoughts?

This deck is good and solid, right now I’m #9.

The last month I played a similar list and thought “Am I the only one? This deck destroy battlemage” and now I can see I’m not the only one. Great job :D

No, lol. It helped in a lot of matches but didn’t make a difference, specially against Altar decks. I returned to the original list.

Thanks for this deck. It works very well. I win with a probability of 99%!
