0 epics, and you can get most of these cards from Aela's pre-constructed deck, purchasable for 500 gold.

Afflicted alit into circle initiate is probably your strongest opening; with ring its a 3/1 and a 4/3 on t2 + your opponent is at 25. Mighty ally is also almost always a keep, especially with ring. Not many decks can easily deal with a t2 6/3. This deck is crazy fast and can routinely get t5 wins with good draws and ring. It also has surprising amounts of burst from hand, especially with northwind outposts up. A northwind up means potentially 4+ damage firebrands with a 5th legion and orc clan captain.

For upgrades, relentless raiders, dawnbreaker, ulric's housecarl, and probably rift thane over afflicted alits will be a nice bump to the power level. Divine fervor may work too, although it lowers your mighty ally %. You may also prefer other red silences like earthbone or hlaalu sharpshooter over cast out, although cast out usually accomplishes the same thing for cheaper (removing a guard or drain) with the added bonus of being a prophecy.

You almost always just want to go face, unless a favorable trade protects a critical card like 5th legion/orc clan/mighty ally and would set up more damage next turn. Good example would be charging a firebrand or stormcloak vanguard to kill a harpy or sanctuary pet. Other times to potentially pause on face damage would be if you can activate multiple circle initiates or an aela's huntsmate next turn by holding off on 1 damage.
