Gone 10/13 so far with this iteration.

Very sturdy and balanced deck with superior draw, removal, and healing functionality.

Can almost always control the board in mid-late game.

Deck revolves around actions as expertise triggers but also has action synergy with the Peddler and Mages Guild recruit.

Nine (2) drop creatures and nine (3) drop creatures make it balanced enough to contend for the board with aggro when packaged with this deck's strong removal.

Vanus Scribe > Mages Guild Recruit for this deck. Even though the Scribe may not net you the two cost reduction the Recruit would instantaneously, his 4/3 body gives him better flexibility in the early and late game. Can contest the board or stash in shadow lane and extend his impact depending on opponent/situation.

Only have two mages guild retreats so if you have a 3rd I'd advise working it in.

Laaneth is there to fetch Vanus. One Vanus proc is very valuable (the value of three Mages Tricks combined) but always stash a 0 or 1 cost action to trigger him on the turn he's played. He is a priority removal for any opponent.

Mages Guild Conjurer sounds cool but he rarely triggers a second time. His 2/3 body is susceptible to a lot. Hard to swallow an execute (1 cost) on your MGC (6 cost). You get far better value from the Mages Guild Retreat because it's harder to remove and can summon stronger creatures right away. Drawback is it requires two actions instead of one.

Don't be afraid to take a few across the face. With healing potion (3), Guildsworn Revitalizer (3), Golden Initiate (3), Mage's Trick (3), and Vanus you have 13 cards that can heal and no limit to how much you can heal. This holds up well against Market Assassin and can put the game out of reach for aggro.

Therana is great for generating 0 cost expertise procs. I try to get three Mage's Tricks or Crusader's Assaults w/ her for the free card turning but Healing Potion, Lightening Bolt, and Piercing Javelin are good options as well for backloading your deck with extra prophecies.

Let me know if you fair well with this, particularly if you are higher up the ladder than I am, as I have been on a mission to get some ladder mileage out of expertise since AW dropped.

I found this looking for a deck for an Expertise daily, just played two games in rank 8 with this and had so much fun. Master of Incunabula has been the real MVP, In the first game I nearly milled myself in a mirror match having Vanus + her on board (but had drawn a Journey to Sovngarde from Telvanni Arcanist - hilarious) and in the second one she saved me together with Guildsworn Revitalizer from Mid Dagoth.
I overdrew a lot in both games because I had too many high cost cards in hand that I couldn't get rid of (partly from RNG draws), but it didn't really matter.
I look forward to continuing to play the deck, although laddering with it is going to be quite slow, it being control.

Thanks man, nice to get some feedback. Yeah I had neglected the ladder for awhile before honing in on this deck and I leaped 9, 8, and 7 pretty fast. I think I went 16-4 in my first 20 games.

Had a baby two days ago so I've mostly been playing other decks in casual to hit my dailies. Gonna see how far I can grind with this soon though.

Another bonus of this deck is with the random action draw you can complete a larger variety of daily quests without having to abandon playing this deck, albeit at a slower pace.

I have a Dragon Slay Halaalu and Swell Empire Aggro that have high winning % numbers as well and will share them soon.

Oh, congrats on the new member in the family!

Yeah, same here - I usually manage to keep on rank 4/5 but just didn't have the time the last months. That all sounds great, I'll try out those two new decks of yours when I have time :)
