Hello I'm WolfeyeCN, a TESL player and translater from China. Here is a adjusted mage deck of mine which I've been using and adjusting for these few days.
It's basically a midrange deck, which contains many card-drawing cards and defensive cards.
V.S. Aggro:
The previous versions of the deck was better countering aggro, which ran Imbued Khajiit instead of Crocodile Brute, and cards like Goutfang Adept rather than Odahviing, Thadon, Duke of Mania and Laaneth. But then I found less aggros in my meta, so I changed it this way, but the deck is still good with aggros.
To face against them, you should keep 1-3 cost cards, and Hive Defender(but curvely as possible, which means if you have three 2-cost-cards and you go first, it's better only to keep one or two). Try to answer every creature your opponent plays with creatures that would be able to trade(fairly or better), and you'll have a good chance to win.
V.S. Midrange and Control:
Only keep Midnight Trespasser, Bruma Profiteer, Crocodile Brute, Daggerfall Mage, Gray Viper Brigand, Hive Defender and sometimes Shrewd Strategies. And Execute when your opponent runs Daggerfall Mage, Piercing Javelin when he might have threats in 5 rounds(e.g. Hand of Dagoth).
Try to earn the tempo against Midrange, not from the 1st round but in the middle section of the game(around 4-10 costs) and try to keep a card advantage(or acceptable disadvantage).
Do not play too much creature on the board if your opponent doesn't seek to win you by board(which normally is a control deck), our creatures are big and hard to deal with(high health, with wards), so keep on give your opponent pressure and don't let him play his AOE easily. Unless you can kill him next turn.

Update: -Laaneth +Valen Aquilarios
Laaneth is too bad against aggros and not so useful when we have so many drawing tools, instead, Valen would be useful since we already don't run drains.

Do you consider adding some Temple Conjurers to give Kitty Conjurer some fuel?
Ayreen seems like a waste with only 8 actions, also Miraak and Odahviing are too slow for a mid range ://

Actually, less actions makes Ayreen more consistent, Miraak is always good in mid decks. Odahviing not as good, but works for conscription and some aggro matchups. This deck is easy to drag to lategame so we need some finishers
