My name is ScottABravo. I’ve been playing for about 6 weeks, and have reached Top 100 legend for the 2nd month. Hit #95 today and am climbing.
I climbed from #800ish to #95 in one day with a 85+% win rate.
I’ve seen it struggle against some token mirror matches where they get to curve faster since this does not have the removal to stabilize, but it kills everything else in 6-9 turns.
I’ve played around with all Tier 1 decks (Ramp Scout, Midrange Assassin, Midrange Mage, Control Mage, Goblins, Traditional Token Crusader or Mage, etc.) and have had by far the best win rate with this published deck.
The addition of Haafingar Marauder over Piercing Javelin gives me those turn 5 concedes if I high-roll the weapon (Mentor’s, Ancient Battleaxe, etc). Can often get 2 procs on that turn before they are forced to use their removal on the HM next turn which stalls tempo.
When Reive breaks 2 runes on turn 5 after you’ve dropped a HM and he gets 2 weapons, it is pretty much over from there if they don’t have full removal or silence. But even then, HM is left standing for next turn.
The Golden Saints (can remove Lydia and add +1 if you’d like) are super clutch in mirror match ups where you can get ahead by just enough to drop them, and help protect your minions with relatively low health until you can buff. They also survive Ice Storm .
Lydia is surprisingly effective since token decks need to play both sides anyways, and she is extremely hard to remove for a 5 drop.
I’ve won many games with a surprise Dawnbreaker, and it does well against Ramp Scout removing Dark Gaurdian for early tempo or Skeletal Dragon for that turn 8 lethal, or against the undead popping up in midrange Sorc.
98% chance to proc on Ally doesn’t hurt either.
