This encounter is interesting for a couple of reasons. First, you have ten turns to defeat your opponent. Markam is escaping, and you have to catch him before he can flee on a boat. As such, you are chasing him down a dock which further complicates things. The encounter features two special lanes to simulate the "docks" feel. On the right is the Dock lane, which is only big enough for two creatures. Further, any creature attacked on the Dock lane will be moved to the other lane for "falling off" the dock. On the left is the Water lane, and creatures that enter this lane are shackled.
The key to this encounter is to avoid playing creatures in the Water lane if you can help it, and to focus on playing one or two creatures with high attack in the Dock lane. Scaling creatures like Daring Cutpurse and Baandari Bruiser can really help out. Swift Strike helps these creatures scale further, and can help pummel your opponent for big chunks of health. Use items to further help out your scaling creatures, but beware Prophecy triggers from Markam. He runs Piercing Javelin, Healing Potion, Fharun Defender, and Knight of the Hour. It's hard to play around them, but do your best to plan accordingly.
Markam also plays plenty of creature with Guard to slow you down. Thankfully, his creatures will fall into the Water lane when they are attacked. This is why I run Raiding Party, as it can take care of two pesky creatures with Guard in a pinch. Silence from Bone Bow also works to help force damage through Markam's front lines.
