Now that it lost guard how much worse is it?

Obviously worse but still good. 10 mana for 6/6 body plus a Javelin in one card is still nice I think.
Edit: shouldn't they reimbourse our gems? I buy a card then they change it, it is like I buy an iPhone then a guy comes later from Apple to take out the camera or something. A**holes.
Theoretically much worse since mantikora's whole purpose is to lock down a lane, but in play there wasn't too much difference (playing as control mage in theif stone) because against aggro by turn 10, you would have guards on each lane and you already won the game lol. However against midrange decks when you really need that mantikora to defend everything, its much worse id say.

Chodala's Treachery will replace him, simple enough. Without Guard, this is a 10 Magicka cost Piercing Javelin (minus the Prophecy and plus a 6/6 body ofc) that otherwise have no impact on the board until your next turn due to the loss its Guard ability, whereas Treachery costs one less and ultimately does the same but with the surplus ability of being able to steal the creature, which is way better than removing it especially on juicy big targets in the lategame.

At least Mantikora will trigger all those things that need a creature with 5+ power. Treachery is a nice variant though I agree, especially if you are able to plot it

You can simply hold on to a firebolt. or a brotherhood contract, a harpy, a wardcrafter, any of the guild recruits, blood magic spells, 0 cost elusive schemers, you name it. I tested it as a replacement and so far it worked out well, most of the time I was able to plot it too which often resulted in my opponent giving up. Stealing is way more frustrating especially if the your opponent put some juicy buffs/items on the creature beforehand.
