I really enjoy how fun and easy it is to cycle into your shouts then shut down aggro or conscription decks with DV or pull off insane Necromancer hijinks via Soul Tear.
The only card change I made was swapping Ungolim the Listener for Brynjolf who I don’t have. I feel Ungolim has synergy with the 3x Scout’s Report, Indoril Mastermind, and Eclipse Baroness. You get the (nearly) free draw and lethal tokens from the added Brotherhood Assassins which are nice against control and decks with lots of big threats. Brynjolf’s drain might be nice to have though, I have to Soul Tear out boosted Giant Bats to heal/stabilize fairly often when I’d rather be saving ST for Necromancer insanity or a Tazkad finisher.
Understood, thank you for the tip
Edit:
I honestly cannot understand how this and other Scout “control” decks can work out. Very easy to out tempo. A Mage deck can control the game usually with firebolt, lightning bolt, javelin etc. But how can this? The removals here are very unstable.
Viper: cannot do shit with ward, if there is a guard on the lane then you must hit that.
Pet: not instant removal, usually gets silenced or destroyed.
The other early creatures are far too weak to match up (3 mana 2/1, 2 mana 1/2 etc).
You have the flexibility to resurrect dead creatures you need, create more copies of a key creature, and thin out your deck to eliminate the cards that won’t help you in this matchup. All of that plus a few value trades with early DVs means you are very likely to stabilize, and a stable control deck always has the advantage.
and what about one copy of Giant Snake? Cuz I`ve got only 1 copy of odirniran`s Necr too…
