Great deck! I just went 10-2 in rank 1 with this and got to legend. I had to swap out Renowned Legate because I don't have that but it works just fine with Dovah of the Voice instead.

against whom did you play 10-2 ???
I caught 4 defeats in a row, without a chance and removed the deck.
Is this with the nerfed Journey to Sovngarde? Wondering if the deck is still worth building. Thanks

Yeah it is with the nerfed JtS. JtS is basically in there so you don't mill yourself, plus is goes well with the altar.

Yes the deck is actually better with the nerfed journey because it works a lot better with altar. I often get an altar up to level 8 or 9, then journey, then you can altar for a 10/10 baroness or 11/11 taz (that's the best).

This deck was fun to play, and took me from being stuck at R3 to Legend in about 35 games. I think I only lost about 5 games, but almost every game was a fun come back. I would typically get down to around 5 health before gaining full control, and starting to get back health with Renowned Legate and Bruma. I added 3 Night to remembers which helped with that. Once I would get Legate out on a nearly full board, I'd play night to remember so he flips side and doubles his heal, with Bruma on the board add 2-3 for the extra summons.

If I wasn't desperate for health I'd use it on Mirakk to steal multiple creatures, or if the opponent had a creature with a powerful summon effect like Paarth, Alduin, or Odahviing, I would steal them and then night to remember to trigger their summon ability.

The only losses were where I faced really fast aggro decks I couldn't counter, or a couple slay rage warrior decks.

This Deck is too reliant on good drawing (especially early on) and gets beaten by almost every other control deck. The only way to win is usually by playing very long games and getting value off of JtS. Not a good deck to climb IMO. I gave it a few tries at rank 5 and ended up with a winrate of about 30%.

It's great at legend, not sure how it is at lower ranks. Against aggro you just hold off and heal, the top end isn't that heavy so it's usually not that hard. Hive defender, bruma, drain vitality, jav, CIT, gourmet, dragon aspect, are all very good for fending off aggro. Against control play conservatively and get your altars going and hold out for a JtS. There is lots of draw/cycle so you can reliably get your JtS before your opponent.

I know how to play this deck but it has too many weaknesses based on my experiences with it. If everything gets off it's awesome but so many other control decks get the job done better.

Deathpriests screw you over, Paarthurnax loop can only be stopped by cast into time, no support removal, any card steal mechanics mess up your deck, those are some of the issues that i've encountered.

Well I did make a few changes. Call of Valors kinda suck (almost always you are the control deck) and gourmets never had any good targets. So running Night to Remember and trying Woodland Lookouts for the 3 drop, can experiment with different 3 drops though. Lookouts usually trade favorably and get occasional heal. Penitus oculatus agent could work instead, or giant bats, eldergleam matron, etc. The 3 slot is flexible but nothing is really good in it.
