Update: I changed a bit the deck to resist better against agro, and contracts are cool in a ramp deck, making you outcurve big drops. Also now we have 11 propheties, I think it’s more competitive. I went to rank #11 since i changed the deck (see link):

Hi,

Since i found out eclipse baroness is a very strong card, similar to ancient of lore in hs about pure value (before the nerf ofc), i wanted to try it in ramp scout, because a 8 mana addiction fits really well with the ramp curve (we didnt have good 8 mana minion for ramp scout), and also i think that the problem of ramp scout was the lacking of draw, and this card resolve this problem alone.

Astrid is also welcome in this deck because there is 9 lethal minions, so you can trigger the effect easily just on playing it.

I didn’t put taskad because i think that you want to be sure to revive a BML or Bamann with the grave singer. He is already charge so the synergy is poor in my eyes.

Maybe i got a bit lucky about the draws, but right after I created the deck I made 12 win and 2 lose in 14 games, against top 50 players most of the time, so it seems to works fine, i faced both agro and control decks.

Gonna give this a try, ramp scout is by far the most fun to play imo

Enought late game and also enough 9 mana drops.
plus you prefer revive a BML than a tazkad with the grave singer, since it’s already charge it’s not that great to revive.
But you surely can replace the grave singer by tazkad if you want so, i think it wont change the core of the deck anyway.

I actually am less surprised about not seeing Tazkad than about Leafluker. The possibility to finish off an enemy creature and bring a 4/3 body on the board… And I don’t even see him as “removed” on your list, you were always sure to not include him?

A card that I am rather surprised to see is Dark Guardian. Basically you are using him as a simple 2/5 guard, his ability is useless to you until the endgame, when you start hitting face?

I tryed with 2 leaflurkers before posting the list and the main problem was the lacking of activators, so I too often had them staying in my hand. I just replaced them with 2 territotal viper that doesn’t need activator and it went much better.

dark guardian is good just by being a 2/5guard, it screw up most of the 2 drops and is very important if you want to survive against agro decks. the drawing ability is very secondary on this card, but i still managed to draw with it in a few games (in late game most of the time).

I also used to think Dark Guardian was bad in control/ramp decks because his ability is basically useless… But I if you look closer, there are no much better guards for 3 magicka in scout to stop aggro, even without his ability. I’d prefer Dark Guardian rather than Midnight Sweep or Stalwart Ally’s randomness or Varanis Courier.

I am actually trying out Blacksap Protector in the last week for this slot – a 3/3 Guard is weaker than a 2/5 one in most cases, but as a Prophecy it at least gives me a boost against aggro. But I agree that there are no really great alternative here – this is certainly a slot that can be filled by cards from further expansions.
